A set of six Victorian circa 1875 hand painted Minton China Works in Stoke-upon-Trent, England, English tiles designed by John Moyr Smith with scenes depicting various trades including Shoe Maker, Barber, The Weaver, The Mason, The Smith, and The Tanner. Impressed Minton stamp to the reverse of each.
John Moyr Smith (12 March 1839 – 1 December 1912) was a Scottish architect and architectural historian later noted as an artist and designer, famed for his work on ceramic tiles.
Unique opportunity to own a rare set of Victorian tiles depicting various trades of the time designed by the acclaimed Scottish architect and tile designer.
